Iranian director Sepideh Farsi hoped to make a film in Gaza, but amid the devastation, that proved impossible. Through her contacts, Farsi found Fatima Hassouna, a young Palestinian photographer who had documented the Israeli invasion from the very beginning. Sepideh Farsi and Fatima Hassouna began to communicate and became friends through video calls. From this material, Farsi has directed the moving documentary Put your soul on your hand and walk.
The film offers a unique perspective on the lives of Gazans in the midst of the Israeli attack. During the calls Fatima tells about death, fear and hunger. The photographs she takes bring the distress of Gazans to the viewer's eyes. But Fatima also talks about love, the future and faith in humanity.
